Our client, a leading retailer is seeking to hire a Facilities Manager to lead and manage the facilities of their large central warehouse / distribution center based in Dubai, UAE.

 

The overall purpose of the role is to ensure that the infrastructure of the Warehouse / Distribution Center including Material Handling Equipment and other technical components allow an efficient operation at the lowest possible cost, complying with sustainability, safety and security requirements.

 

Some of the main responsibilities include:

  • Proactively manage and determine day-to-day maintenance and facility needs
  • Contacting and scheduling outside vendors and service providers as needed which include but are not limited to maintenance of Fire Protection System, Electrical Devices, HVAC, MEP, Lighting, maintenance supplies
  • Respond to unplanned facility emergencies as needed outside of regularly scheduled work hours
  • Manage budgets and contracts of external facility vendors and take a leadership role in ensure service level agreements are adhered to

 

Our Ideal Candidate should have

  • Demonstrated leadership in managing facilities for a large distribution center or warehouse
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively and independently with various levels of employees and government offices
  • Ability to work with diverse coworkers
  • Work with accuracy in maintaining expenses and budgetary requirements 
  • Basic to advance knowledge in construction, MEP, Fire Fighting Systems, security access controls
