Company Profile

A medium sized bank operating in the UAE is seeking a legal professional in a leadership role to advise senior management, business groups and risk partners on the laws and regulations that will have an impact on the operations or financial position of the bank.

Job Description

 

 

 

Reporting to the Country Manager, the selected candidate will work alongside business and other support functions to assess the vulnerability of products and services to existing or future legal or regulatory challenge and help devise mitigation strategies. Additionally review and draft standard agreements / documents with clients and third party service providers. He will also work with the compliance unit to investigate and resolve client complaints and work with external counsel on litigation issues.

 

Candidate Profile

Applicants should be law graduates with minimum 10 years experience gained within the legal department of a bank that operates both retail and commercial businesses. Fluency in English and Arabic is mandatory. Should also possess litigation management experience in the UAE. Familiarity with international financial services and regulatory issues will be an added advantage
